AnsaldoBreda Inc wins contract in San Francisco to upgrade 143 tramcars Roma, 21 December 2009 AnsaldoBreda, a Finmeccanica company and leader in the production of rail vehicles, has won a fiveyear contract worth USD 54 million to upgrade 143 tramcars for the city of San Francisco's public transport company (MUNI). The contract, approved by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, will further strengthen the partnership between AnsaldoBreda and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA).

WINGS AIR orders 15 ATR 72-500 Dubai, 16 November 2009 Today, ATR and WINGS AIR - a subsidiary of LION AIR, one of the main Indonesian airlines - announced the signing of a contract for the purchase of fifteen ATR 72-500s, with options for a further fifteen ATR 72s series 600. The contract follows on from a Memorandum of Understanding already announced in November 2008 which involved orders for ten ATR 72-500s, plus options for a further ten ATR 72-500/600s. Today's contract adds five firm orders and five options. The total value of the agreement, including the options, is around 600 million dollars.

Finmeccanica, Ferrovie dello Stato and Kazakhstan National Railways sign memorandum of understanding Rome, 5 November 2009 The Chairman of Temir Zholy, Askar Mamin, the Chairman and CEO of Finmeccanica, Pier Francesco Guarguaglini, and the CEO of Ferrovie dello Stato, Mauro Moretti, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreeing wide-ranging co-operation in the development of the Kazakh rail sector. SELEX Sistemi Integrati signs contract with Malaysia's Civil Aviation Authority Roma, 28 september 2009 SELEX Sistemi Integrati has signed a contract worth more than EUR 26 million with the General Directorate of Malaysia's Civil Aviation Authority, to supply civilian air traffic control systems for eight of the Country's airports. The agreement covers a primary radar, systems for air traffic control centres and control towers and simulation and training centres, for a total of 66 operational stations.

AgustaWestland acquires helicopters and aerostructures manufacturer PZLSwidnik Rome, 18 August 2009 AgustaWestland today signed an agreement to purchase 87.61% of PZLSwidnik, a Polish company which produces helicopters and aerostructures, for a sum of PLN 329 million. This stake comes in addition to the 6.2% already owned by AgustaWestland. Theacquisition, which comes after the privatisation process launched by the Polish treasury's industrial development agency, is subject to antitrust approval, and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Ansaldo Energia sings contracts with Sorgenia for the plant in Aprilia Rome, 23 july 2009 Ansaldo Energia leader in the supply of components and services for power generation plants, has signed a contract with Sorgenia to build a "turnkey" 800 MW combined-cycle power station in the municipality of Aprilia (Latina); Ansaldo Energia was also assigned the multi-year maintenance contract for the gas turbines and related generators.

Finmeccanica wins 541 million euro contract in Libya Tripoli, 22 July 2009 Finmeccanica has won an important new order worth 541 million euro in Libya through its subsidiary Ansaldo STS. The contract is for rail signalling, telecommunications and power supply systems for the coastal line from Ras Ajdir to Sirt and the inland line from Al-Hisha to Sabha.

DRS Technologies wins new contracts worth over USD 85 million Rome, 11 June 2009 DRS Technologies, Inc., has secured three new contracts worth a total of more than USD 85 million. The first, worth USD 35.2 million, was awarded by Raytheon, and is for production of Phalanx Thermal Imagers (PTIs) and spare parts. Deliveries will begin in August and will continue until June 2011.

Solidarity initiative "Finmeccanica for Abruzzo" launched for victims of the earthquake Rome, 8 April 2009 Finmeccanica would like to express, in the form of a tangible contribution, its solidarity with people and colleagues hit by the recent violent earthquake in Abruzzo. The Group has therefore launched the initiative "Finmeccanica for Abruzzo" among its employees in Italy and abroad. The initiative will also be open to external contributions and will gather funds for the victims of the earthquake. The funds collected are intended for the employees of the Group companies in Abruzzo and for the needs expressed by the region. These operations will subsequently be explained to trade union organisations, and staff and all contributors will receive regular updates.

Board of Directors approves 2008 results Roma, 10 march 2009
- Finmeccanica once again posts improved results. Revenues grew 12% in 2008 (organic growth: 8%), from EUR 13,429 million in 2007 to EUR 15,037 million.
- Adjusted EBITA grew 25% to EUR 1,305 million, from EUR 1,045 million in 2007. The increase is mainly attributable to organic growth (+20%).The adjusted EBITA margin improved from 7.8% in 2007 to 8.7%.

The contract also covers full service activities and an option for a further 45 vehicles worth an additional 40 million Euro.
