The driverless metro project main principle consists in the union between design and technology to obtain a vehicle that assures safe, reliable and high quality service in the respect of the environment. 

Such requirements are also confirmed by the materials used and by the results obtained in terms of energy savings, reduction in noise levels and vibrations and ride comfort. 

The main characteristic is the completely automated driving, with doors opening only when the vehicles arrive in station. The interiors design takes account of the need to obtain a floor completely  free from obstacles such to allow passengers to easily  move and have an improved sight as well as to permit easier maintenance. 

AnsaldoBreda has already provided this kind of vehicle for the Metro of Copenhagen and now is working on the projects for the cities of Brescia, Milan with Line 5, Rome with Line C, Taipei and Ryadh.
