BredaMenarinibus is the second largest manufacturer of buses in Italy.
Based in Bologna, the company was set up in 1919 and has been involved in the technological evolution of Italian bus and coach design from the outset to the present day.
The company's success is based on the founders' technical insights, ongoing research for innovative solutions and the use of advanced components.
In all these fields, BredaMenarinibus is often ahead of its competitors in Italy and abroad, so much so that in recent years they have taken to following its innovative design criteria.
Technical developments include: disc brakes (since the early 1980s), the first short and medium-length buses with lowered floors, independent suspension on all wheels, multiplex electrical systems with onboard diagnosis, and, during the 1990s, the first methane-powered buses produced in series - a field in which BredaMenarinibus continues to be a leader.
The company is specialised in buses for urban transport and coaches for longer distances, with the aim of improving the travel experience for passengers by making their journeys not only safer but also more comfortable and pleasurable. At the same time, BredaMenarinibus sets out to simplify drivers' tasks and to improve business management for companies involved in local public transport (LPT) - all this while keeping to the principles of sustainable development, safeguarding the environment, and attention to passengers' needs.
Today, BredaMenarinibus has a workforce of 300 employees. The company's long-standing tradition, together with the proven support of local suppliers, enables it to produce more than 500 buses a year at its Bologna plant.
During the last two years, agreements for technical collaboration have been set up with other manufacturers in Italy and abroad, with the aim of expanding the traditional range of products and making them more competitive on international markets.
