Ansaldo Energia, a Finmeccanica Company, is the leading Italian manufacturer of thermoelectric power plants. Ansaldo Energia offers the power generation market a broad range of products and services with the support of its independent manufacturing capabilities. The company has an installed capacity of over 176,000 MW in more than 90 countries and employs upwards of 3,000 people, including foreign subsidiaries.
The production centre is split into three product lines: gas turbines, steam turbines and generators, all featuring advanced technology designed to satisfy the most demanding customer requirements in terms of efficiency, reliability and environmental impact.
The company develops turnkey electric power stations, helping customers define the characteristics of new plants.
Ansaldo Energia handles all after sales issues with a broad range of global services, ranging from repairs and spare parts, to on-site work, including overhauls and upgrades, right through to full service or Long Term Service Agreements.
All product lines are managed consistently with the new service approach, devised to create customer value by optimising assets.
Ansaldo Energia is also enhancing its non OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) service portfolio. By merging the company's OEM know-how with the expertise contributed by Ansaldo Thomassen and Ansaldo ESG, both acquired in 2006, Ansaldo Energia now offers the market a new service concept with the "Original Service Provider" trademark (OSP (™)).
In recent years Ansaldo Nucleare has successfully maintained the valuable body of know-how it possesses not only in systems engineering and special component design, but also in plant construction. Ansaldo has made a significant contribution to the construction of the first two units at the Cernavoda power plant in Romania, working with Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL). Cernavoda 2 is one of very few European projects completed over the last decade, and despite its modest size, the Italian nuclear industry can assert that its nuclear skills are both recent and in no way inferior to those in many other European industries.
