As Mr. Giuseppe Orsi, Chairman and CEO of Finmeccanica, highlighted today in L'Aquila on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of the new facility for Thales Alenia Space, "Innovation and technology are certainly two very important factors in Finmeccanica’s success, and they will continue to be in the future ..." "... The most important thing for us, is to continue to create the means to conduct Research and Development."

Finmeccanica’s international success is based on technology developed by excellence and continuous innovation and supported by significant investments in research and development. Every year Finmeccanica invests about 11% of its revenues in research and development activities (€ 2 billion in 2010).
