Commitment to sustainability

Questions relating to sustainable development are not “somebody else’s” problem: they are not just down to governments, businesses, “people” in general.

It is necessary for all parts to do their bit; nobody can do enough on their own. Each one of us must play our part. As a business, we want to be “good citizens” in our reference community, which today is the whole world.

This is because Finmeccanica is becoming a more and more multinational business. We have now reached a total of over 78,000 employees, working on every continent. This makes our involvement even stronger, because we feel the responsibility of our power and the impact we can make.

We have started out along a path that is presenting us with new challenges every day, and the challenge of sustainability is gaining more and more importance.

We know that, unlike the other industrial goals we set ourselves, this is perhaps the most complex, as it requires a change in culture, looking at day-to-day events in a different way and dealing with them in a new manner.

These are the changes that are hardest to achieve: but they are also the changes that, once achieved, will last the longest, because they have a deep impact on the motivation of people and on the history of the Group as a whole.

This is our goal, this is our pledged commitment.
