The Group

The Finmeccanica Group ICT function is responsible for Information and Communication Technology Governance within the Finmeccanica Group, in other words all initiatives for rationalizing, optimizing and searching for synergies relevant to the information systems of the Group Companies.

To carry out its assigned mission, Group ICT has developed an operating and organizational model based on the management of the following: process management methods and tools, reference methods and technologies for ICT architecture, coordination of Group ICT platform design, gathering, analysis and consolidation of ICT expenditure as well as the development and management of agreements with its main ICT suppliers, including the Master Service Agreement with its technology partner Elsag Datamat.

Group ICT works in close synergy with the companies and its technology partner, coordinating the ICT Steering Committee and ICT Professional Family’s activity, promoting Task Forces for the joint study and development of technological solutions, providing support to individual companies or groups of companies for evaluation or projects that have an impact at the Group level.

Group ICT Governance activity also includes representing the Holding company in the sector organizations related to ICT activity of interest to the Group such as information security (TSCP), electronic data exchange (Boost Aero), the development of the ICT platforms used by the Group (SAP A&D Advisory Council), etc.   

Furthermore, in accordance with the Group Governance model, Group ICT guarantees the management and evolution of the ICT infrastructure and its Information Systems that are progressively opened to the Companies, becoming ever increasingly Group platforms.
